Why You Can’t Afford to be Stupid and Careless

Life naturally places barriers of entry for important and risky actions. Take the hunting of a bear. Naturally this is risky, so where do you find the most dangerous bears? Alaska. Far from most people.

You see many people find themselves in dangerous predicaments because of stupid decision making or poor execution. Stupid decisions usually come from a lack of accurate research, which is different then not researching at all. Accurate research first requires a valid question. Poor execution is generally caused by carelessness. Attention to detail prevents execution from happening poorly because mistakes are being caught before you do them. You see if you are making stupid decisions but are great at executing then you will find the poor decision and correct it in your actions. If you are making great decisions then it is much easier to execute a well thought out plan.

Thus, you can’t afford to be BOTH stupid and careless.

My efforts to display the kind of short, pithy wisdom of marketing great Seth Godin.
